Welcome to the tutorials page! These tutorials work best within the framework of the curriculum used at the University of Texas at Austin, based on Esther Raizen's Modern Hebrew for Beginners and Modern Hebrew for Intermediate Students (UT Press, 2016). Individual tutorials, however, and certainly the independent tutorials, may be of use in other settings as well.
Note: Tutorials associated with earlier editions of these books are available here.
Your browser must support Adobe Flash Player in order to run the tutorial modules. During Flash installation, you may be prompted to install McAfee, but this is not required to run the tutorials.
These links to a number of Hebrew logic puzzles are authored by Esther Raizen for use in classes at the University of Texas at Austin. Enjoy them!
The puzzles are designed in black and white, for maximum clarity in printing. Feel free to use them in your classes! In addition to the crosshatch grid, which I provided with each puzzle, I recommend using a fill-in grid, which often helps in organizing and highlighting the data that is already available.
